Hey, a little note from a Motorsport fanatic/almost encyclopedia: the Indy Racing League was when what is now IndyCar was split along with CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams) back from 1979 until 2003. They eventually merged back together into what is now called the NTT IndyCar Series. But what might their favorite drivers be? I personally love Cody Ware in NASCAR (not kidding I own a shirt of him), Yuki Tsunoda in F1, and of course, Jimmie Johnson in IndyCar. I miss him in NASCAR.
P.S. It’s also fitting that nobody likes Formula E haha 😂
Nice picture… I figured Applejack would be more of a NASCAR fan than IndyCar fan though. Rarity would probably prefer Formula 1 (especially the Monaco Grand Prix)…
Now there’s an interesting thought experiment. What race series do the ponies follow?
Applejack: Indy Racing League
Rarity: Formula 1
Rainbow Dash: NASCAR
Pinkie Pie: World Rally Championship
Fluttershy: Legends Car Racing
Twilight Sparkle: World Endurance Championship
Derpy: Figure Eight
Starlight Glimmer: NHRA Drag Racing
Sunset Shimmer: MotoGP
Trixie: SCORE Desert Racing
Maud: Rock Crawling
Luna: World of Outlaws
Celestia: AMA Flat Track motorcycle racing (she’s full of surprises)

@Edhelistar
You can be in high school and be an adult. I think they have displayed in all material respects that they at least have the mental maturity of adults; what remains to be seen is the canonocity of their adulthood by western statutes standards
If they live in Washington, then Rarity would have shops in Seattle on Broadway, downtown Bellevue, and… thinking of a good equivalent for Ponyville, I’ll say Enumclaw. Rainbow Dash would work at the FAA in Auburn. Applejack’s apple farm would be outside Yakima. Fluttershy’s animal sanctary would be in Wilkeson where the White River can flow through it, Pinkie Pie would work at a bakery in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, and Twilight’s castle would be in Enumclaw, right at the base of the Cascade Mountains.
@Harmlesskitten13
Cool, I never knew that. I was just trying to guess by bracketing state borders to Indianapolis on Google. (And I wouldn’t know the visual difference between Oregon and Washington anyways.)
@Flying Pancake
Close! I actually based it on Washington state. This is the coloring of an earlier commission, and I got the idea for that state from the commentary of EQG 4, where one of the crew members mentioned that they were inspired to design the (EQG) Everfree Forest after their backyard in Washington. And from there, at least according to Google Maps, it’s roughly a 32 hour drive to Speedway, Indiana.
32 hour drive? So that would put EQG Canterlot… let’s see what Google says… somewhere in Oregon? That makes a lot of sense, come to think of it. Headcanon accepted.

Once they become adults of course. In this world they are still high schoolers.
To be honest, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, either.
Agreed. They really suit not just their looks but their personality, too.
