Considering the screencap I sent you had Zecora in a giant bird talon behind Rarity, I’m glad you came to that conclusion. ;)

Fun story about this card: Often my morning routine with my kids spills over into the afternoon and I wind up making these cards without the context of the episode. I almost submitted a color-“corrected” version of this where Rarity was brighter. As I was putting the final touches on it, I thought “Given the flavor of the card, there’s probably a huge monster casting a shadow. I should leave it.” Thank goodness I didn’t waste our time.

No. They are always deaf, but the noise of combat keeps them from focusing on their own words.
 
Also the flavor text is amazing. Change the art and it would feel better than actual MTG cards.

How does one become only deaf during combat? >.>
