So yeah, expanding brain meme applied to all the Gens of My Little Pony. Seriously, not the joke variant where the dumbest response gets the biggest brain.
And I know Tales was released during the late G1 era. Most people just refer to it as a G2 product on a technicality due to it following the G1 animated series and predating G3.

Oh I can respect an entirely slice-of-life setting as well, it’s just not what I think of when I think of MLP. :)
Yeah, the marketing during that series would’ve been a bit over all the place, trying to advertise characters in this very much more normal world to little girls who were used to the fantasy of the earlier stories.
(although actually Tales was late G1 - G2 ponies had a rather different style that was never used on-screen, but did get some dolls and a videogame)

I can respect an entirely slice-of-life setting. What undermines G2 is that they weren’t certain on how to sell the premise at the time.

Wellll…and I know this is just my opinion, but as I made this meme based on my opinions, I’ll explain:
I made my rankings based on taste, and my taste leans towards the more magical, adventurous MLP stories. While I did really enjoy MLP Tales, it was a fun series with some great stories, it was 100% slice-of-life (or maybe 99.9% lol) and, well…no adventure or magic.
Tbh I wanted to put Tales in a tie with Twinkle Wish Adventure, but that would’ve just made it messy. xD
@TheMultiBrony21
As much as I enjoyed MLP Tales, it was basically normal world type stories, but with the characters all drawn as ponies. The whole series was “slice of life” which isn’t bad in moderation, but it just didn’t really grip because of it. G3 and G3.5 at least reintroduced the fantasy elements to the franchise. :)
I want to fave or upvote this but I feel bad ranking the different pony gens lol
It’s definitely tempting to say the very first special had the very best pony designs, at least.
No, the last one is the classic G1 My Little Pony, they were more pony-like in behaviour and had much neater on-screen designs, and the stories were magical fantasy. The second one is My Little Pony Tales, the characters were more human-like in action (using front legs/hooves as arms/hands, living in a human-like society) and there was no magic at all in these stories. You could basically swap the ponies out for human characters without affecting the story at all.
I can’t believe they made MLP games before the GBA era.

Edited because: Posted too soon

Newborn Cuties, I Don’t think the Episodes is Final Releases Design, Because The Commercial Much Cuter than NC.
NC Seems like a Dumping Design or Private Buggy Design
