(I rarely comment at all, but I need to get this off my chest) Nothing will ever change it. That’s the norm. But this is when a voice needs to be at least heard, because I read comments like Beau’s, it makes me think alot about stuff. Thundercats Roar to me at least, doesn’t have an excuse to be what it’s going to be soon. Teen Titans GO! I’m not a fan of the show as a lot of people aren’t, but it at least it HAS an excuse to exist, not a REASON, an EXCUSE. So jay has a reason to draw in HIS style AND has an excuse because I’m certain he’s familiar with how a body works because I’m also certain he doesn’t give a crap what others think of their work. I mean the characters in MLP do things the body doesn’t work like walking with your hoof up and not face-planting every time and no one seems to care. So I really don’t see the hate or drama over an artist’s style just because it’s different from what we see everyday, other than bait for the artist to just give in to the pressure and quit altogether because that’s what it looks like. Look at Gravity Falls. The creator shouldn’t caved in and gave up because of some stupid ass tweets he gets about the show, but now we’re not getting a 3rd season because of crap like this. Constructive Criticism to improve and crapping on someone’s own motif of choice especially with what their comfortable with are completely different things. There’s my 2 cents on this subject, I don’t care if I get shat on or roasted, trolled whatever the case may be. I just hope Jay Fosgitt continues to keep up the good work and NOT be like Phil Fish.

Coming back briefly to state I’m sorry for being a bit snarky, and rude. This drama brings out the worst in me, and others, (on both sides) I guess…
 
Before I get labeled a “Fosgitt fanboy,” let me just say, I’m not incapable of criticizing Fosgitt, I’ll even admit I like his more recent covers more then his recent (as in a year ago) interior art. (I’ll even admit, Scootaloo fying here does bug a bit.) His earlier stuff was better, but I still feel people are nitpicking him more then other artists who make similar mistakes, aren’t perfect either, and such. And I tire of this idea that all Pony art has to be perfectly on-model with the show art style to be considered “good.”  
It’s discouraging to me an artist to see this fanbase is like that…

Well, the first half and the 2018 annual were by Hickey. But yeah, that makes sense, I had failed to make the connection with Friends Forever ending.

The entire Legends of Magic series was done by Fleecs IIRC, so fewer opportunities there. He was also writer and illustrator for a Marvel issue last year and has his own series, so he might have just been too busy.

I didn’t even hear about this one, but was this the Sunset Shimmer special issue? Because I read that for the first time about a year ago, and his art for that one was rooooooough. He got way better.
 

 
Huh, really? It had felt like Fosgitt hadn’t drawn as many issues recently, but I didn’t realize he had stopped completely. Maybe they are listening to us after all.

For what it’s worth, I do – kind of like how I find that pic @Dustcan posted of Celestia at the acting lesson to be totally unnatural and jarring, and I’m really not liking the Abbey Road cover either; it would have worked just as well if they were properly quadrupedal. But those are rare enough that I don’t say anything. With Fosgitt on the other hand, it’s every other page or worse, and even when totally not required by actions like pushing carts, making it impossible to tune out.
 
And I’m glad somebody else brought up the mane style issue, as that’s another thing that I haven’t noticed other artists having problems with.
 
But my experience is also that young kids enjoy his art style.

I don’t see any clipart, or fan designs, or whatever here, so frankly you’re just bringing up old drama/arguments as an excuse to bash. I’m not going to bother going through this “only the show accurate artists are guud, Fosgit is Hitler” B.S. with you again.
 
I’m sorry, but as a site assist, I don’t know if you should always be starting arguments on these Fosgitt pics, and accusing him of things you have no proof of. It’s really setting a bad example and encouraging the drama, and I don’t understand why you always get away with it.
 
Also, Fosgitt already stated that egg beater cutie mark you guys made a big deal over was something he drew by hand, and added in. So it’s honestly pointless to complain about, and bring up still. Tony Fleecs actually did copy & paste official Equestria Girls art in an issue, and you guys didn’t go on for years about it. Oh, but it’s ok, because he’s a “good show accurate artist.”

Yet, you have no problem when other artists draw them that way. You also need to do more research on what “anthro” is.
 
You realize you’re complaining about an artist who has only done one optional varient cover in a year, right? It’s not like you guys had to constantly suffer through his art. And frankly, I don’t like every IDW artist either (like Garbowska) but I’m not calling for them to be fired, and such like an online geek.
 
Anyways, I’ve had it with the drama, I’m out. Good riddence.

That pic is amazing to me: it’s an artist who never has drawn MLP before (to my knowledge) and yet, they somehow manage to pull the pose off AND include a reference to older material. Meanwhile, Fosgitt, who was one of the main artists on the comic for around three years, still cannot even after dozens of interior pages and covers, plus commissions etc AND can’t be bothered to even Google something unless he’s taking clipart or a fan design.

Well, originally, Faust was just going to have AppleBloom, until Hasbro suggested adding two other fillies. Not to mention, originally she didn’t think/want Rainbow Dash & Scoots to have a very friendly/sisterly relationship. >>253974
 
As much as I love Faust’s work on the show, not all of her original ideas were perfect, (such as Applejack headbutting trees) and I’m afraid it’s up to the current show-runners she entrusted the show to on what happens.

I dont see a point of her character. She would be much stronger as someone who excels in something other than flying (like scooter driving) rather than become just a late bloomer who eventually learns to fly. I think even Faust didn’t wanted her to fly.

How can the “only point” to her character be “relatable to cripples,” when that’s only been addressed in like one episode? And even the episode didn’t state flat out that she’s officially a cripple, and implied her wings could still possibly be able to grow, and she could fly possibly some day.
 
Also, as I pointed out already she can hover a li’l bit as seen in many episodes. In fact, she got pretty high in that “Sweetie toils” episode.  
Not what I’d call a “cripple.”
