I think she is good strategist, after all, whatever you choose to look at it she go to CMC to make them want to help her (after all, this is Applebloom backyard, so what she was doing there other then looking for them?), she faild her test and she did that either to thank them for help, so they could be in school with her, or she told Starlight that she failed on purpose so she could get an A on failed exam and make CMC’s look better.

Rooks can only move in straight lines. It could mean she’s straightforward and honest (she did attempt to accomplish her goal through dishonest means, but she confessed pretty quickly, not to mention she utterly ruined what she’d hoped to achieve, which doesn’t exactly mark her as a master manipulator). Maybe the “twist” is that she’ll turn out to be trustworthy after all, and is dangerous because she herself is too trusting.

She hasn’t really done anything wrong yet that the Crusaders themselves can’t be accused of doing at some point. Attempting to help and accidentally making it worse, in particular, is something her tutors have done a lot of. I don’t see what would have given anypony cause for suspicion thus far.
