Backstory:
Twilight Sparkle had noticed some weird feelings bubbling in her heart whenever the name Sunburst was mentioned. Like always, she decided to read about her emotions as she wasn’t sure what was wrong with her. She debated whether or not to see a doctor but thought she’d read more about it before making a decision. Twilight had never had a real crush on anyone before. The thing with Flash Sentry was a short girly crush. A crush she knew wouldn’t go anywhere. After a few days of research she discovered that what she was feeling was love. She had fallen in love with Starlight’s childhood friend, Sunburst. She wasn’t sure what to do about it because she knew it’d be betraying her student’s trust. She was scared about possible outcomes, including one where she’d be hated by her friends and other ponies. She decided that she should talk to the Princess of Love about it. Princess Cadence suggested to her sister-in-law to get to know Sunburst more. Maybe her feelings would change if she did. Twilight did as she was told and got to know Sunburst better. After a long amount of months, Princess Twilight Sparkle and Crystaller Sunburst became an official couple. Their relationship was serious, not like a little school fling. The whole of Equestria knew about the royal couple, and it wasn’t long until they were married and had a child, Velvet MoonStone. Together they created a beautiful powerful daughter. Everything seemed lovely and happy, but behind the doors their marriage was falling apart. Sunburst was busy in the Crystal Empire all the time and Twilight was either off on adventures with her friends or held up with running the Friendship School. There was never enough time for their child or their relationship. Years after their marriage, they decided it was best to get a divorce. This struck the ponies of Equestria at a point of confusion as nopony was aware of their struggles together. The pair decided it was for the best and Twilight agreed to keep custody of Moon. Sunburst’s life slowly went back to normal but Twilight’s was just becoming harder. Not only did she have a town, school, castle and a world to protect but she also had a child to take care of now. She was struggling a lot, as were her friends who also had children to take care of. Her old friend Sunset Shimmer had built a strong magical force in the human world and decided that her work was done there. She made the choice to move back to Equestria. She heard that Twilight was having trouble in Equestria, which also made her want to come back more. Twilight let her live in the castle but an agreement had to be made that Sunset would help her with everything. As the two mares began to catch up there was a spark in their friendship. They found themselves to be falling in love with each other. Twilight began to get worried though, as her previous relationship and marriage ended in a divorce, but Sunset assured her that she’d never let that happen. At first they kept their partnership a secret, but with nosy friends and ponies it soon hit headlines. Moon didn’t like the idea of having a second mother and missed her father a lot. She was told that she could visit her dad at any time she liked but transport wasn’t cheap and she wasn’t old enough to go alone. Sunset Shimmer and Princess Twilight Sparkle soon married and had a child together, with the help of magic. Twilight was now with two children and a loving wife. As her daughters grew up, Velvet MoonStone became very jealous of her younger half sister, Sun Daze. She hated her step mother and sister a lot. She made an oath to herself that once she was powerful enough, she’d destroy the mares. But it wasn’t easy because Daze was becoming more social and was part of a powerful next generation. Unlike her older sister she was connected to the tree of harmony and the element of magic. She was obviously more powerful than her sister and that wasn’t liked at all. Moon wasn’t connected as the tree sensed an evil in her spirit. Twilight didn’t know that ofcorse, nor did Sunset.

Current Time:
Velvet MoonStone and Sun Daze don’t get on very well. No matter how hard daze tries to connect and befriend her sister, it’s always replied with arguments and violent rages. She wasn’t sure why Moon acted this way and assumed it was part of her personality. Princess Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer had picked up on how cruelly Moon treated Daze and agreed it was time to put their hooves down. They set Velvet Moon up for therapy, in hopes that it’d help her recover from her mother and father’s divorce, but to no avail. They tried to get her to study at the Friendship School, but like before it was no use. They came to the conclusion that Moon was just a mean sister and left it there. Until one day, Velvet Moon burst into the hallway, chasing after her sister. Her horn was lit up as if she was ready to fire another ball of magic at her sister. Twilight and Sunset had just exited the library, chuckling with each other as if a poorly told joke was just made. Their eyes set on the situation. Sun Daze ran into the arms of Twilight and tucked her face into her mother’s neck. Velvet MoonStone was not far behind and stopped in front of her mothers.

“What is the meaning of this?” Twilight sharply demanded.

“Moon was threatening me when I was trying to tidy my room and chased me down the hall yelling she was going to blast my head off, mother Twi!” Sun Daze exclaimed, trying to catch her breath.

“Well maybe I wouldn’t have to if you was never born!” Velvet Moon screeched.

“That’s enough, MoonStone! Me and your mother are tired of this nonsense. Why do you have to be so mean to your sister? What terrible thing has she done to deserve this kind of backlash?” Sunset asked, trying to defuse the situation calmly.

“Well let’s see” Moon soothingly began, “she’s the face of this family, she’s stolen the power and harmony element that rightfully belongs to me, she’s got everypony fooled and um.. maybe because she’s my REPLACEMENT?!” she suddenly screamed.

“Moon do you honestly think Sun Daze was born to replace you?” Twilight questioned in a sad tone.

“Not only is Daze my replacement, but that witch you call your wife is the placeholder for my father! I HATE YOU BOTH”
“D-do you honestly hate me…?” Sunset whispered as tears began to build up in her eyes.
“YES! I curse you! I curse you! Some day I will be more powerful and when that day comes I will seek revenge on you two. Once you’re out of the picture I will claim my rightful rule over the ponies who deserve a better leader. You will regret not appreciating me, not loving me, replacing me and my father. You’ll regret all your wrongs. Sunset Shimmer and Sun Daze I will get you.” Her words stabbed like a knife, cutting through the hearts of the three other mares. Moon’s eyes shone with rage and hatred. She meant every word she said.

Twilight, Sunset and Daze all sat there, in a sorrowful silence. None knew what to say. They all stared at the fused unicorn. Knowing that she’d won the argument and set her ground, Velvet MoonStone set off. She stomped down the corridor, the gray glow from her cutiemark calming down and eventually fading away. Moon’s next moves would be unknown to the Sparkle family. They were unsure if she was being serious about her claims and if they should prepare for any possible attacks.

Man, that was a lot to write! I’m so sorry it’s taken me years to do this, but I wasn’t sure how to format the story. I started getting distracted with school studying, home life and stuff and forgot about this. But I’m back! for now. Anyways, hope you like it.
