Description

Starswirl the Scholar, as he is known in my MLP fan fiction, The Tale of Two Sisters. As you can see, Starswirl is quite a bit younger in this story (though not ‘young’). I wasn’t aware of his cutie mark, so I designed one. Seen here nude, in his casual robe and hat, and in his court wizard vestments. Most alterations you see from the official designs are plot-relevant, so read it to find out why! For anyone with suspicions, yes, his casual robes were inspired by Gandalf from LotR.

Are the parallels with Stygian in design intentional? Clever, if so!

Actually no, apparently I’m not that clever ^^ His general look was simply an attempt to make him look younger (and the beard comes into the plot later), while his grey cloak was a reference to Gandalf, and his vestments were an amalgamation of the show’s design and the comic’s design. To be honest, I completely forgot Stygian existed :D
