While I can understand why and how it happened… spending all your time and emotional energy on someone else besides your s/o is very much a form of cheating.

I can see Sunset getting a whole “love at first sight” moment with Sci-Twi, but she was still with Aria. So she split her time between them both, but slowly gave more and more time to Sci-Twi. Because in Sunset’s mind it wasn’t “cheating” and she still spent some time with Aria.

But Aria began to put the pieces together and called her out.

Stays true to Sunset’s character trait of having blinders on when she wants something so I very much like.
