Description

There’s still a long process before it’s official but it’s safe to assume the royal couple will be approved for adoption.

speak for yourself! the moment I hear I’m adopted, I’m fantasizing about the incredible parents I must have, out busy saving the world while they had to give me up to protect me, but within me is their genetic legacy, and one day the world will call on me too to save it.

or y’know… maybe I’m not directly related to superman, but try explaining that to my five year old self on halloween.

Yet there’s something devastating when you grow up with a wonderful family you think is your own and then one day - when they think you’re “mature enough” - you hear those ugly words: “You’re adopted”.

Total letdown.

I dunno, I wish I was adopted. my parents kind of sucked at raising kids. I don’t think it’s hard as all that to love someone who adopts you.

in fact, imagine if someone reads your words, and loses heart in their hope to adopt, because they believe you and think that it’s gonna take a massive effort just to get their kid to love them. the kid doesn’t get adopted, has to grow up without anyone to love them at all. so uh… I’ll just assume that it’s okay to adopt, and not worry about if the kid thinks you’re the real parent or not. it seems much kinder, that way.

This is a sweet and a touch heartbreaking moment given the context… but the angle of Luna and Twilight’s horns reminds me yet again that Unicorns and Alicorns have to be really careful not to accidentally take someone’s eye out.

It’s an interesting concept, adoption.

Think about It…young Child…so young…he/she has nothing. Absolutely nothing. It’s lost EVERYTHING.

As a Child…how can a child “deal” and “comprehend” it? The world took a massive shit on him or her and now they have nothing. Alone. Just them. “I don’t have a mummy or a daddy.”

Imagine how awful that must make them feel?

Now. Adoption…understandable children are very hesitant…nervous..and even frightened…or just sad…or even lacking the will power or desire to go and say hello to the potential adopter(s)

It’s a horrible thing for both sides. The adopters have to build up a zero confidence child who has absolutely nothing in life. And to earn a special type of trust that is only given to the original parents. And finally…

Love…

At the back of a young child’s head there is always that fact.. They are not the true mummy or daddy. “I’m different to every other kid”. It will be with them for the rest of their life. Hopefully…if the adopters do the right thing and earn the child’s trust and love, maybe the child when he or she grows up will possibly say “Fine…they aren’t my biological parents…but they are my mum and dad.”

I don’t think people realise how heavy the burden is of adoption. It’s a sad… Serious topic that you need to think heavily about. It’s alright you saying “Hey let’s adopt!” but remember…it’s not just about the adult.

It’s a sad sad thing. But in the right hands…you can make a child who has nothing…into a happy child…and then when he or she is older… Wrap his or her arms around the adopters and say “Thanks…mum and dad.”
