Seems like it for now. I hope she just doesn’t just go “hey I found this and don’t want it, do you?” and gives them the egg. It would’ve been way more impactful to actually see Twilight herself go out of her way to obtain the egg from a the ransacked nest, that way we could see an actual connection between her and the egg, and not just be told one exists for some reason. Who knows though,I’m getting ahead of myself assuming things I have no idea of yet.

That answers why she took it, but why did she bring it to Celestia and Luna?
The mother was killed and nest destroyed. It was either take it with her, or leave it there to die.
I’d rather assume the worst and be positively surprised.
What if it ain’t spike? What if it turns out to be the son or daughter of spike and ember?
