I still disagree, if you look at earlier Starlight pics especially they were full of hatred, and very little positivity, or defense over her.  
I see commentators here take shots at her alot, and never get flack for it.
 
I think the reason newer “Glimmerbuse” pics are so downvotes is because most fans are just sick of the drama over her in general, regardless which side it’s from, and frankly, alot of ‘em are just troll-bait, or not even amusing like this one.  
As I said, this pic hardly has any downvotes though, so your assertion that anything making fun of her is mass-downvoted, and nobody can mock, or criticise her isn’t entirely true, and I just disagree that there is positive-bias torwards her in the fandom.  
There’s even tons of hate clubs of her on DA, FiMFiction, and such, with tons of fans who hate her, (a friend of mine hates her so much, he refuses to watch any episode featuring her, and he was never bothered by anything else in the show prior) so I don’t really see Starlight as a very popular, nor “overrated” character, and even the show itself has dialed back her appearances/episodes a bit in response.
 
She’s kinda like the Shadow the Hedgehog of FiM, she may have alot of fans nowadays, but she still has just as many haters too, and she’s one of the most controversial character in the series.

I could find you several others if I wanted to… I just picked dilarus because they’re my favorite. They are by no means a particular artist/exception to the rule.
 
Sure there exist worse pictures of Fluttershy (getting dissected or beaten to a bloody pulp). So I’d like to preface with my earlier remark…

I’ve seen hate of other characters get plenty of hate & downvotes.  
That particular artist is only one of the few who gets away with it, because they aren’t really hating on Fluttershy, and most understand that. I’ve seen “hate” pics of Fluttershy, and others much worse,
 
Heck, this pic of Starlight being cremated only has 12 downvotes, some of those images you posted actually have more, so it’s a moot point.

Been here since the start. They had a problem with Twilight getting wings, not with Twilight herself.  
Fluttershy is my favorite pony, I myself didn’t care (my favorite works are:)

Meanwhile even the most tame and funny roasts/negative pictures of Glimmer spark huge flame wars and are downvoted into oblivion.

Sure, I’m not saying none of the fandom ever overreacts to the mane 6 getting insulted, it’s just way more prevalent with the latter.

Actually, that’s false I’ve seen plenty of fans overeact over their favorite characters being mocked, or criticized. Fluttershy & Spike fans especially get stereotyped as overly-protective. (Didn’t help that some “Spike Justice Warriors” were actually hassling show staff online, accusing them of hating/abusing Spike.)  
Some pics that even just slightly do affectionate parody of certain characters have gotten complaints. I’ve gotten crap for poking fun at characters that I actually like. Once I got hassled by a huge group of Sunset fans when I merely criticised her. ’Shippers have hassled me for not being into their favorite ‘ships.  
So to pretend that only Starlight fans are like that, or that she’s immune to hate, (I see her get plenty of hate) is ridiculous, and biased.

Basically overzealous starlight fans and haters overreact to each other’s overreaction thus triggering and seemingly endless cycle of overreacting which leads to constant and pointless starlight drama.

any negative slight towards Glimmer is seen as drama in the pony community. Calling dash a cunt, twi a mary sue, flutter a pansy, rarity a stuck up bitch, pinkie a flanderized mess, aj a bg pony = no drama. But if you so much as edit Glimmer out of a group photo from the other mane 6 and it gets taken down. I’ve seen it several times, and one of the edits wasn’t even out of malice, they just didn’t want Glimmer in the photo.

Goddamn it how is this drama? It’s a bloody joke for crying out loud. When you make a joke about a character it humanises them, treats them like every other character. This isn’t insulting glimmer, It’s including her with every other character.
 
Not every joke at starlight’s expense comes from a place of hatred.
