Starlight’s village reminded me of the American form of Democracy.

I didn’t say it was a complete fit and that Starlight absolutely is a Marxist…. I just said there were a few parallels that people take as a meme. Mainly that she believed in the whole “blah blah blah EQUALITYYYY” blah blah fight the tyrants and their way of life and everybody gets their rations and meeeueuauuaururhhhhhh but it turned out she was creating a form of tyranny all on her own. Kind of like how a lot of communist countries have ended up doing in the past after rising to power as “the people’s party”.
 
But regardless I don’t see why you’re worked up over this. It’s a meme, and it’s never been thought of seriously. No one actually thinks it was a real reference to communism, that’s just the first thing a lot of people thought of in that episode. Hell we don’t entirely know what kind of economic system Equestria uses anyway. It’s also not the OP’s fault because this is far from the first image to use the “starlight is a commie” meme, it’s just a guy reacting to what the community in general has described her as before we all decided she was sexy.

No argument needs to be made. Only pseudo intellectual tards would make any allegory to communism. Starlight was the leader of a village - hierarchy. That alone contradicts any possibility.

I mean you could have an actual argument that goes into the real details of the economic system and how it wasn’t /directly/ talked about in the show…. But the parallels that people have drawn with Starlight’s first episode as a meme at least sort of felt fitting when compared to the basic talking points of Marxism. I don’t see why anyone would think it’s that much of a problem to see her “equality days” remembered in that tone.

It took a while, but Starlight definitely couldn’t deny Twilight’s “taste” either.
