Look, I fully concur “Mirror Magic” had many flaws and overall wasn’t that great of an EQG special, but exactly what relevance does that have to genervt’s comment? Regardless of the quality of that special, the two of them are friends and would undoubtedly take pride in each other’s accomplishments.

No one’s denying that Sunset is popular. Also, your bias towards her is really showing. Is it honestly that difficult to accept that Starlight is also popular with the fandom? Even in a fair poll the two would probably still be neck and neck. Certainly neither–not Sunset or Starlight–would have an easy path to victory.

Sunset was made to look as though she’d been vaguely outshined by Starlight Glimmer of all characters and Sunset’s fanboys aren’t taking it well. That’s all there is to it. One notes that, at time of writing, all the ‘Starlight drama’ ‘OP is a duck’ tags were added by two long-time Sunset fanatics.

Honestly, I don’t get the whole poll drama. It isn’t like one choice exceeded the other. It was an 8 vote difference.

I’ve come to realize this: what Starlight Glimmer is to Sunset’s partisans, Twilight Sparkle is to Sunset herself. From Sunset’s perspective, it isn’t Starlight who replaced her as the next one in line to get wings!
 
(Besides, EqG is scheduled to continue on for the foreseeable future, with a lot of new content; so I’m no longer afraid that Starlight is stealing Sunset’s future from the scriptwriters. Starlight can do as she pleases, and I’m rooting for her to take care of Chrysalis, by conversion, or sealing away, or whatever else.)

A loss by 8 votes, on a site full of pro-Starlight propaganda? I wouldn’t go demon again too quickly, Sunset.
