If I remember correctly an interview revealed that Octavia and Vinyl were actually supposed to meet for the first time in Episode 100 but Hasbro forced the writers to make them roomies. Since there are two different staffs for each FiM and EqG it is unlikely they’ll have the same interaction as in the main show.
