And Tempest’s abject fear is just utterly palpable here. I absolutely love the way Andy Price draws her terror and desperation in this specific panel, the top part especially. You can just feel and hear her heartbeat pumping like hell looking into those wise fear-ridden eyes of her’s and seeing the way her hooves just dig so deeply into the snow.
We don’t know how long it takes one of these things to reach maturity. And this may not be the same one she met.
Shouldn’t it be an even bigger bear by now?
It is a childhood trauma.
Scared, yes, but I tend to think that anyone who’d seen as much trouble as Tempest and lived through it would also be running.
Then again, this is a story and her and everyone else’s reactions in it are whatever will advance the plot.
Well I mean put yourself in her shoes.
If you found out that the giant bear that borke your horn and left a giant scar on your eye when you were a child was still alive and about to attack you and quite possibly kill you, you would be terrified too, right?
Especially when it’s a goddamned Starbear.
