I think y’all missed the joke.
It’s not. SilFoe made her own AU that was slightly based off the canon Nightmare Moon timeline but it’s it own unique thing with quite a bit of differences from the canon one. The first being was the origin of this AU. In the show it was caused when Nightmare Moon came back from her banishment and the Mane 6 weren’t able to defeat her. In this AU, during the original fight 1,000 years ago between Celestia and Nightmare Moon, Celestia lost. So Nightmare Moon has been in power for over 1,000 years in SilFoe’s AU and she has had Twilight’s family work with her even before she was born.
If this is based on the show’s canon (which I’m pretty sure it is) then she isn’t on the moon, she is in the moon. It’s unclear how much awareness this affords her or if it’s just like being asleep for a very long time, but she certainly isn’t able to do anything physically because right now she does not exist physically.
It’s hard to find a partner on the moon…
Though I guess she can do the deed herself?
Isn’t Celestia banished to the moon?
