keep in mind some of the pics in this set are older than others, but nonetheless, figured it was time to upload them (i’ll probably upload a few today, then a few later, etc) – basically i gave myself a challenge of imagining the mane 7 as canon SU gem types or variations, complete with the canon SU body types / attempted style emulation.
and here is Sunset Sapphire! in all honesty, “sunset sapphire” is just another name for more red Padparascha sapphires, but considering rubies and sapphires in the SU world are different gems, i figure it’s fine to stretch things a bit.
keep in mind this crossover AU is basically a complete replacement of the Crystal Gems / Steven with the Mane 7 (Harmony Gems) & Spike – who, in this AU, is also a half gem, but not, as one might assume, the child of Twilight! you’ll see when he’s uploaded

Sadly you are up against the anti-SU types who are hypocrites and not worth caring about. And against those who just don’t like humans on this site but don’t filter it. But you don’t need to please everyone, so long as you’ve got people that do care you should keep it up!

Just because I don’t like doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be posted. Though if I had one piece of advice I would say in the description make it clear that you don’t know any details about the Steven Universe drama. And just thought this was a cool idea .
I have art with scores of like negative 100+ votes bc people didn’t appreciate some of my hcs so don’t sweat itoh gosh, i actually didn’t know anything about either of those! i’m not really in the SU ‘fanbase’ at all (i don’t actualyl like the show that much, just the concept of gem aliens/the art style) so i had no idea. thanks for the explanation!
For the record you didn’t do anything wrong. And I would never tell anybody to stop being creative in anyway. It’s just that the Steven Universe community has a bad history with the Brony community. The worst of which is when they tried to claim ownership of the FiM and waging a bit of a flame war with Bronies. After EQG started their own Steven Universe fan site.
i’m sorry you didn’t like the image! in the future i know not to post the rest of this set on derpibooru, as it seems most didn’t appreciate it–so i definitely won’t be spamming crossover stuff here anymore! so don’t worry about that. i honestly had no idea the reaction would be so negative, but i’ve learned my lesson now i suppose!
