That guy’s right, you can’t mix and match styles. Go for pony-inspired with the heads but come up with a more unique style that better matches the rest of the body.

The head is what really sinks the whole aesthetic. It’s aiming for show accuracy and ends up with a massive neck and an over-sized, cartoony head that doesn’t fit the body type.
 
The other problem is using mixing anthro and non-anthro body parts. Human hands, but digitigrade legs that end in a blob of ‘flesh’, combined with the pony head, just looks bizarre against the gritty world textures. The Skyrim pony character mod’s idea of turning hands into hooves looked better and the ‘feet’ should have been given an obvious ‘hoof’ instead of blobs. Head and neck need to be smaller. It would also fit better if the colors were more muted like they did with the shirt.
