Part of the griffon myth is that they primarily eat horses and horse-related animals.
Like sea ponies.
In fact hippogriffs were never believed to exist, even when things like dragons, griffons and unicorns were, because the only way to get a hippogriff was for a griffon to mate with a horse, which would never ever happen.

At least they will be able to pass the oral part of the friendship final exams.

You’d think that sex jokes wouldn’t elicit a reaction from a demon, but it turns out no.

Bravo!!! I was hoping that there would be some shipping with Gallus and Silverstream, and not only do I see that, I can see a bit of explicit with her and Gallus as well. Terramar is gonna be scarred for a few days after knowing his (i’m assuming) older sister has a boyfriend, and much more than that….

“Eating” somebody, or more commonly “eating them out”, is slang for cunnilingus. Terramar is worried about legends where griffons eat hippogriffs in the sense of literally eating them, but Silverstream misunderstands what type of eating he means (or possibly just decides to mess with him) and reveals that Gallus gives her oral sex.

Hooo boy. I haven’t laughed this hard in a while.

As I understand it, the idea is less that hippogriffs are physically part griffon and more that hippogriffs are genealogically part griffon. Hippogriffs being the offspring of griffons and horses is something that shows up in most medieval myths about hippogriffs, and in a lot of modern works too.

In fact, the very first appearance of any note of hippogriffs in literature – in Ludovico Ariosto’s epic poem Orlando Furioso, where Ariosto more or less invented the myth of the hippogriff – explicitly describes hippogriffs as such:

No fiction wrought through magic lore,
But natural was the steed the wizard pressed;
For him a filly to griffin bore;
Hight hippogryph. In wings and beak and crest,
Formed like his sire, as in the feet before;
But like the mare, his dam, in all the rest.
Such on Riphaean hills, though rarely found,
Are bred, beyond the frozen ocean’s bound.
