Hard to remember, but I assumed Delta Vee encounter Trash for snooping in her garbage or something. One thing led to another and well Trash ended up liking Delta as a “close” friend.
 
Sadly we don’t see any more interaction with these ponies. As far as I can remember on Tumblr, Red-Bacon, the mod and owner of Trash, made a very short comment that she didn’t want to talk about it and that was it.
 
I guess something happened between Red and Shinodage that led to the lack of fan art of our ponies. Though I’m not 100% sure if this is really the case, but just take it as a grain salt cuz this is all I can remember so far.

Is there a backstory behind these two?

I definitely think that, at the very least, Trash/Sunny will be that very close family friend that is allowed to sleep in the house, much to Jet’s displeasure given how he wants to keep everything clean. Hell, he may even make her take a shower after she shows up, and keep her from eating all the trash in the house.
 
I’m not sure how one reacts to having a living garbage disposal… She also eats metal, and not scrap, so probably not the best roommate.

It sadly won’t be canon, because (and yes, this is an opinion,) Delta’s gonna realize that getting back together with Jet is the option this is going to make everypony involved happy.

Trashvee isn’t canon yet…Trash/Sunny Lane haven’t actually appeared in the story proper yet.
