Honestly, I wish that Luna was the main character of the blog and Molestia was a side character. Seriously, JJ’s Luna is a hundred times more likeable and interesting than Molestia.

While I can’t comment on it closing or not, you have to recall that blog was made as a result of the original blog being deleted. Now that it is bag, I guess deleting it would seem rather odd and not really serve any purpose.

It is very unlikely that he’ll put an end to Ask Princess Molestia. It’s gotta be one of the most popular and loved pony tumblrs, and it doesn’t seem like JJ feels guilty about it.
 
I’m pretty sure he incorporated Gamer Luna into Ask Princess Molestia because everyone wanted to see more Gamer Luna, and this way made it easier for those two to intersect.

This is why I love this fandom. A joke about a character being a sex hungry nymphomaniac has somehow ended up as this tragic broken figure who tries to bury her shame at dissapointing her mother with emotionless carnal lust. And somehow it still remains consistently hilarious.

I think he’s using Molestia as a metaphor for porn fan art; it’s fun and funny sometimes, but he can feel like a monster doing it. And he hides it the creator of the show like he’s embarrassed (see his comic-con strip) and is ashamed of himself in front of her.
