I totally agree. Balloons play a HUUUUUUGE role in Pink Ponk’s life. They even make up her cutie mark.  
And considering the pics below of Dashie and balloons (which are cute af, btw), parts of me hopes that this is alt-reality Dash that would hate balloons as she would hate pies (in Pinkie’s imagination anyway). Or maybe, this is part of some joke I didn’t catch on to at first? (I’ve gotta read this comic…)
 
Anyway, as a looner myself, I too would have been just a LITTLE offended, but not so as to rebel against the mere thought. I’ve always had a certain fondness for playing with balloons, even before becoming a fan of MLP:FIM some years ago. I’m normally a non-popper, but popping is just not my cup of tea (I have nothing against it, really.), unless humor is included, somehow. Today, having balloons pop near me wouldn’t bother me as it did when I was a tyke. Now, super-grown, I’ve learned how to turn a childhood phobia into something useful and beneficial: even making it into a hobby. (NOT popping, that is.)
