Agreed. If Spike wants to know more about dragons, why not ask Smolder? Or Ember when she swings by for a visit? I guess that’d be too easy.
Though with her help least spike has a dragon to show him the ropes (cause NOONE knows anything bout dragon lores in ponyville not even the bucking princess part from the dragons but thats another topic for another day)

Why do I have a feeling that the Smolder-Spike interactions are going to be my favorite part of this episode? Must be because they were among my favorite part of Molt Down.
