as i said in my last post, but helped me figure out the name - momentous legacies au. so it now has it’s own folder in my gallery. yay!
 
any way, quite a few people requested i draw my tempest headcanons. so here you go YEET.
 

 
Tempest, or Fizzle Pop Berry Twist, was born in a small, predominantly unicorn inhabited no-name village just on the outskirts of Equestria. Tempest was quite proficient in magic from a very young age, which made the results of the bear attack even more devestating: her broken horn, a large, bloody scar that left her with a blind eye.  
Returning to the village was very difficult from that point on. Being inhabited by mostly unicorns, suddenly being unable to use magic (except for short, violent bursts) left her feeling very isolated. Though they were gentle and friendly towards her to begin with, and very understanding of tempest’s situation, the community prides itself on magic over anything, and eventually tempest was swept to the sidelines.
 
This led to a very resentful, spiteful, Tempest. Sick of being brushed aside, and insulted by unicorn’s using their magic so ably and without much thought, she left, changing her name to distance herself from the village, and sought out a new purpose.
 
Through her journies, Tempest began hearing tales of the storm king - enslaving innocent creatures, terrorising lands and wreacking havoc in his path. Tempest, initially, had no interest in joining him - she loathed him, even, for hurting so many innocent creatures… but as time went on, her bitterness grew, and the storm king played off of this. He promised her that if she were to join him, he would restore her horn so that she could enact her revenge on those that had crossed her…. and Tempest gave in.
 
Tempest continued on doing the storm king’s bidding, for several years. Though she loathed him, she knew it was just a matter of time before he restored her horn and she could do what she needed to do. When he set his eyes on Equestria, she was ecstatic - the prospect of being so close to home was exciting. It would make things much easier… But of course we know that didnt go to plan lol
 
The storm king betrayed her. He had had no interest in restoring her horn, and had been using her all this time. After his defeat, Twilight and the mane six welcomed her to Equestria with open arms - but she still felt conflicted. Her bitterness was still lingering, and she was cautious to trust other ponies (especially unicorns) again… but she realised that, actually, most ponies dont mind, at all. they’re a very lovey dovey species and aside from the odd exception most of Equestria is very welcoming…. So with some guidance, and a lot of help, tempest was able to rejoin Equestrian civilisation again.
 
I know it was mentioned in the s8 premiere that tempest left to spread the word of friendship in and beyond equestria, but mm, I think by that point Tempest had had enough of travelling. She chose to stay in Equestria, especially as she learned to let go of her bitterness and rejoin Equestrian Cvilisation. Eventually, she actually joined the royal guard, and became heard of twilight’s own guard at the Ponyville castle.
 
Tempest has an….interesting…relationship with twilight, and consequently rainbow. After Twilight’s break from Discord, the two had a very flirtatious relationship. They were never an actual thing… all it really was was playful flirting, but it didnt help set off a very jealous and defensive rainbow dash. As I’ve said, rainbow has always had a thing for twilight. Though they weren’t dating at this point, let’s just say rainbow was… cautious, of any newcomers making any advances. Nothing really happened between them, though, and when more royal guards were requested for the castle during Twilight’s pregnancy, Tempest was about the castle frequently once again. Twilight and Tempest never really flirted during that time (you kinda know someone’s not available if she’s happily married and expecting her first child lol) outside of jokey little things, but Rainbow was in hyper-defensive-must-protect-my-territory mode almost constantly.
 
extra little things to note:  
tempest never changes her name back to fizzle, and hates it when anybody calls her that - except for twilight, who loved to tease her with itdue to losing her horn at a young age, her unicorn tail didnt get a chance to develop properly (which is why it’s so short)i dont rlly see tempest having any kids. she’s the kinda stone cold butch lesbian that isn’t rlly the family type. she did enoy being a babysitter for summer and bird though
