I can’t upvote this so I’ll just re-share it. Kirin are NOT dragon/pony hybrids in any sense, they’re just a creature identified as similar to EASTERN dragons, and the best part about this episode is that it will hopefully kill the misuse of Kirin in the fandom…. eventually.
@roadhump
The flames of the Nirik are clearly actual fire, though. Recall the village was burned down once because everyone was in Nirik form.
Curved horns are also a feature of eastern unicorns.
Besides the fact “Black with curved horn” also describes King Sombra, The details between the Changedlings and the Kirin can also be pointed at the Ponies as well, also there are plenty of male Kirin, look at the eyes on Kirin to tell their gender as fur pattern is not limited. Male voices are also heard during the curing scene.
Moths have fur. Also kirin’s “fire” thing can be some sort of fluorescence, that some insects have.
My stars. Equestria runs under Invader Zim logic!
I mean Big Ruler seems to happen with a lot of equine species in MLP. Obviously the first big example are the alicorns, then of course Chrysalis and Thorax, but the recently introduced Hippogriffs own Queen Novo is larger than the other ones though not by much. Plus more high class or noble unicorns are often taller and more slender. It’s probably just an easy way to show nobility. Putting the character literally above everyone around them. Wasn’t the chief of the buffalo tribe even bigger than the others?
They don’t. However, the males and females are virtually indistinguishable, much as with the kirin.
Changelings don’t have an absence of males though?
