In my opinion: Our government opened up our gates several years after the devastating CR. People spent a lot of time thinking how did we go wrong, obviously. As the economics grew, more people’s lives went better and gained interest to outside cultures. Also, as the Internet prevailed, the new generations were able to learn about more diverse things much faster, shaping their unique openness and understanding of the world. Thus leading to this.
It’s been over 40 years since the end of the CR, and that’s a long time for changes to happen.
Not criticizing anyone, just honestly wondering how it happened.
