Description
Diamond asks for permission to visit the pony her friends had told her so much about and yet broke their hearts. She expresses her disappointment to Cozy Glow at having the friendship of the Crusaders and generally being liked by everyone and just throwing it away for something ridiculous. So is Cozy wants power and to be ‘the Queen’ so much, she can have the tiara Spoiled Rich had forced her to wear instead of the one she had made herself. Diamond can now leave a part of her that was like Cozy behind to rot in literal hell.
Which is strange, because even than MLP was confirmed to have more seasons than just 3.
I know but originally when they wrote and animated it, season 3 was supposed to be the series finale.
No, I mean the actual series finale… When the show ends in other words.
It was the series finale.
That’s the point.
Twilight should’ve became a Princess as part of the series finale, not just a season finale.
She was promoted before she was mature enough to handle it.
No, you’re right.
Ever since becoming a Princess, Twilight seems to know LESS about friendship… Not as less as when she first appeared, but close.
She thinks that you can just tell someone what they did is wrong then offer them friendship and bing bang boom they’re good.
And let’s not forget the Pony of Shadows incident…
She literally thought re-imprisoning him was the right thing to do just because some guy that never really understood friendship said so.
It’s kinda depressing how bad Twilight is at being the thing she became a princess for.
Unless that’s what she thought it was, and it’s supposed to be…oh, I don’t know…MAGIC, because she finished a spell, which while related to Friendship, wasn’t actually about the magic of friendship itself…
Or maybe I’m overthinking this
Hmm… Okay. But the question is, who?
Diamond Tiara would be a good choice, but I highly doubt they’d let her in to Tartarus without proper clearance…
However, it could be Tirek that mocks her, I mean he isn’t known for his big heart and his sense of compassion (like he even has those), this would also teach her not to side with a guy that looks like a friggin’ demon.
For me, that would really be more fitting than to have someone she doesn’t even know about, Diamond Tiara, be the one to do it.
It would also be more fitting: Tirek, whom Cozy seems to trust, betrays her like she betrayed the ones that trusted her… The ultimate “what goes around, comes around” situation.
Yeah, but the difference was that Gideon didn’t actually have true friends until he met the inmates. I mean, Ghost Eyes is quite the hench angel after all. The only one he had otherwise before that was Mabel and that’s what pushed it.
The problem is that Cozy did have true friends. Twilight trusted her explicitly by the finale, the CMC were super friends with her, and she was well liked. She had Gideon’s missing ingredient - true friends. She had actual respect. Cozy simply tossed that aside because the only thing she wanted but didn’t have was power. There’s no friend or love interest to push her to the good side.
Cozy has to become as lonely as Discord in order to really want redemption at this point. She needs to be back footed in a relationship to actually prove she’s changed.
She isn’t like any other MLP villain - she wasn’t jealous from being ignored, she wasn’t lonely, she didn’t feed off love, she wasn’t a nonpony, she wasn’t afraid to make friends and angry, and she wasn’t cast out. Cozy had everything - Pegasi magic, friends, and respect. Friendship alone can’t solve her because she was taught it explicitly and felt it and saw no need beyond power with it.
How do you change someone to good if they already had everything that actually matters and discarded it anyway? You have to show them they were better off before and some jail time will do that for Cozy. She won’t be guilted into it, she actually needs to be mocked by seeing how much she lost because she was power hungry.
That reminds me.
Ever notice that Cozy seems to behave like Gideon from Gravity Falls? (If you’re not familiar with him, or the show, it’s okay.)
Both had a entire town believing they were just cute and harmless. Both were really attempting to become extremely powerful. Both worked with another villain to achieve their goals. Both attempted to achieve their goals, only to lose to the main protagonist(s). Both showed no remorse for their actions. And both ended up being sentenced to prison.
As you said, she needs to learn how to accept friendship… This will likely happen in season 9. And it will add to one last comparison between her and Gideon… Both get redeemed.
Gideon apparently realized his mistakes and was reformed.
No, the problem is Cozy’s thoughts and attitude towards friendship. She has to come to hate the feeling of loneliness before she’d be open to it. Cozy has to hit rock bottom and she hasn’t yet. At least not in her mind.
Well, it would work… Except for Diamond Tiara being the one to do it.
It would have to be a pony with access to Tartarus, because I don’t think they allow visitors to Tartarus. (though if it is just a Prison, I suppose it doesn’t matter.) Maybe Starlight and/or Celestia.
It wouldn’t work in canon. Cozy fundamentally doesn’t understand friendship.
Oh. Okay.
When you put it like that it actually makes sense.
My mind just interpreted the image differently.
I guess DT is better at this than Twilight.
Actually she is helping her in this picture. She’s using basic psychology on Cozy - making her realize herself how much she lost because of her manipulations and views. There’s some guilt tripping in there too.
This is like if Cozy was trying to steal say a fresh loaf of bread and Diamond caught her. Instead of saying, “stealing is wrong.” because that just sounds like she’s being preached to, instead Diamond says, “It’s alright; sure Derpy won’t be able to get bread this week since her paycheck was cut so she might end up going a bit hungry but I’m sure you need that bread, right?”
She’s guilting her into realizing she’s doing wrong.
…
I’m referring to the fact Diamond Tiara only went there to give Cozy a tiara instead of attempting to help her realize her mistakes.
…What.
First of all, that’s a look of disappointment from DT.
Second, Cozy had the world and threw it away because she’s psycho. DT did not when push came to shove.
Third, you people are oversimplifying the Babs Seed scenario. Babs was being bullied at home for being a blank flank leaving her vulnerable. When Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon started on her like back in Manehatten, she decided to become a bully with the bullies to protect herself. It was a case of severe anxiety, trust issues, and self esteem.
You have a point on both accounts.
|| I really hope she gets redemption and becomes like a anti-hero. She would be perfect for a role like that. ||
I think Diamond Tiara looks rather sad and disappointed than gloating and gleeful.
@TheMultiBrony21
I don´t think that Cozy will stay a long time in Tartarus.
There may be a prison break very soon.
Edited
I’m thinking of a anti-hero… Just so she can have a redemption, and not become a greetings card goody two shoes.
She’d make an interesting Deadpool-esq character.
