I expected that too, but among other things, they only had so much time left in the episode.
How would them succeeding have made a better plot than Autumn showing that the rage power can be controlled? They seem equally valid options, and the latter fits better in a single episode’s run time.

that would be great, but it seems like the writers were afraid of showing the kirin too evil. Little girls wouldn’t love evil characters and wouldn’t ask their parents to buy them kirin toys later.
Another potentially good episode wasted. Classic.
