Badum has said many times that he doesn’t really consider the Mean Six to be “evil” per se (especially when it comes to Mean Dash). The way he says he sees it, they have their preprogrammed personalities, and they don’t really know anything else, but they (like all living things) can learn, adapt, change and grow.

Pretty much interesting indeed. Just like Tony Stark when he turned from a cocky, drunken playboy bastard into an altruistic, sacrificing, but jokester superhero.
 
Spider-Man could be said the same too. He had to bear the weight of responsibility after the death of his Uncle Ben. Yeah pretty much MLP gets this treatment, realism and all.

Though, as much as her BBBFF and Celestia adore her, I still think that there’d be quite a few things they wouldn’t let her get away with.  
Then again, most of those things would be horribly out of character for Twilight.

It’s safe to assume she’s always had a fairly high level of authority, even if it was technically unofficial. She has a direct relationship to the leader of Equestria and the captain of their military so odds are she could do or get away with pretty much anything she wanted XD

Well, Twilight really wasn’t in much of a position of authority until her ascension in The Magical Mystery Cure, though her position as Celestia’s star pupil was still deserving of much respect.

It’s a good, solid character flaw for her. It makes for conflict and humor, and is a negative trait that doesn’t make her a bad or unsympathetic person. The fact that she’s so powerful and in such a high position of authority makes it hilarious XD

well, her character in that episode was somewhat limited by the fact that the audience could not be allowed to identify with anyone opposing a wedding.
 
but yeah, I laughed when twilight’s justification was “because she’s evil!”

Look at Canterlot Wedding too. If she had just taken a step back, thought rationally, and approached Celestia one-on-one and voiced her concerns (perhaps with some level of tangible proof) no doubt she’d have been taken seriously. Even if we’re to assume nobody had heard of changelings or seen shapeshifting spells before, Celestia must have at least enough faith in her pupil to at least look into it and they knew brainwashing and cursing was a very real thing: who’s to say Cadance wasn’t brainwashed or under a villain’s control? :P
 
Instead she charges in without considering how bad it’ll look, gets called out for being a jerk, is left at “Cadance’s” mercy, and only blows Chrysalis’s cover due to sheer luck in the end :P
