This picture is funny, but I absolutely hated this unnecessary episode. Rainbow and Rarity are flanderized, and it’s just 90% percent arguing.

No ship between the manesix would work, the manes works well as friends, but imagining them as couples being something more intimate gives me as a result a toxic relationship where there are only fights and discussions. They are all too different.

Denying that Rarity would like Rainbow Dash for all the same reasons she would like AJ is pretty ridiculous. Rarity and AJ literally have nothing but each other and their friends in common.
 
And Rarijack being a popular enough ship (because they’ve been in a bunch of episodes to play off of each other) to get shipping fuel doesn’t make them “pretty much canon”, not by a long shot. I like the ship, too, but at least I know the difference between shipping fuel and confirmation. You want holes in your ship? Rarity arrived at AJ’s party in Five to Nine arm-in-arm with Rainbow Dash.

uhhhhh nooooo Rarijack is damn near pretty much cannon in the show and in eqg at this point. aj and rarity have a lot that plays off each other……dash and rarity not so much….like none.

I disagree. If Rarijack is feasible, so is Raridash, for many of the same reasons. The core difference between Rainbow and AJ is that AJ is humble (usually) while Rainbow’s got an ego. The thing is, this is a trait Rainbow actually shares with Rarity. They could stroke each other’s egoes all day and love each other for it. They would also argue bitterly, but passion about anything will do that and the same could be said of Rarijack.
 
Pinkiedash makes less sense than Raridash does. For that matter, so does Raripie.

That’s like the second worst pairing after Flutterpie! The romantic chemistry is just awful!

I enjoyed that episode, but man that was a premise that belonged back in Season 1.
