Well, debatably, ypu didn’t lose much XD  
But yeah, the Canterlot High Stories books aren’t really good, except Rainbow Dash Brings the Blitz being decent.  
(Although in context, it kinda already had the symptoms of problems prevalent in the two latter books).

Guess i should have been read the books, but is good that they won’t be canon, they sound terrible written lol  
Well, the Pinkie scenes looks most  
likely to be clips from a new special/episode (Not a music video since source mentions that these are from a DVD release)

Nah, it’s at best extremelly doubtfull, and probably impossible, especially that “Science Fair Sparks” and by extension Pinkie pie and the cupcake calamity, were set before Legend of Everfree (there is no sign of Timber, or Twilight being a relationship with him; Twilight is visibly traumatized by Midnight; Cinch still the principal while Dance Magic stated she was replaced in her position by Cadance around the time Legend of Everfree or before it; Flash still has hopes and is confused about Sci-Twi). It doesnt have sense then they wear their current outfits.
 
And the scenes really onky very vaguelly fit to what was described in the two books - the similarities are pretty much surelly coicidences.
 
And the books completelly contradict canon - they very contradict canon, for example Twilight Sparkle’s Science Fair Sparks among things contradicts canon with:
 
-Flash having visible feelings towards Sci-Twi, and doesn’t mention pony Twilight at all, the book makess no distinction between his feelings towards Sci-Twi and pony Twilight.  
  • Sci-Twi and Flash get quite close during the book, ||like romantically close, if in a fairly forced and unrealistic way. || This VERY contradicts how Flash and Sci-Twi were uncomfortable in contacts in Legend of Everfree, and even latter, up until the very recent Snack Psychic, way after LoE.  
  • Sci-Twi states she got something of a crush on Flash since they met in _Friendship Games, even though all of their interactions in canon, or _even previously in the same book up to that point, indicate otherwise  
  • Sci-Twi’s blooming romance with Flash is rather impossible, seeing how she got with Timber in Legend of Everfree, and was distant towards Flash, or it makes her look quite bad.
     
  • This book also strongly contradicts Dance Magic and is contradicted by it - Twilight states in Dance Magic she “haven’t heard much” about people from her old school, and attending “the first-ever Canter-Crys science fair organized by both Canterlot High and Crystal Prep Academy”, is kinda hearing much about her former school. Rarity also shows no knowledge of Crystal prep since Friendship Games, despite having a part in this books plot, and seeing ad meeting Crystal Prep students at the Science Fair in it.
     
     
Rarity: [gasps] Sour Sweet! Sunny Flare! Why, it’s been ages.
Sugarcoat: It’s only been a few months since the Friendship Games.
Rarity: Is that all? Wow! [giggles] How is everything over at Crystal Prep Academy?
Sunny Flare: Oh, things at CPA have never been better since Principal Cadance took over.
 
Rarity: That’s because it is! The girls at Crystal Prep even agree. They’re making a video, too.
Twilight Sparkle: They are?
Rarity: I-Is that a problem, darling?
Twilight Sparkle: Oh, no, it’s not. Just haven’t heard much about my old school since I left, I guess.
 
Again, even if we put “Science Fair Sparks” after Rollercoaster of Friendship, it wouldn’t make sense - Twilight would then cheat on Timber, Cinch would be again the principal, and Twilight again would be tormented by Midnight.
 
In Pinkie Pie and the Cupcake Calamity, Pinkie works here in Sugarcube Corner, while in the actuall animated Equestria Girls, she works in Coinky-Dink World.
 
 
So basically, due to numerous contradictions to canon, these book make themself impossible to be canon, less having animated counterparts…

Probably the first and last photos are from “Pinkie pie and the cupcake calamity” (even thought there are no confirmation of the novels having animated adaptions) and the rest from “Science Fair Sparks” (The second pic looks like they are in a kind of library or classroom)  
But the third seems to be like a outside place (And one scene from the cruise special looks like a sky night) Maybe that woman is some scientist who helps the girls to return maybe, or in the case that is the science sparks thing, she is just some guest scientist who goes to the fair (I hacen’t read the novel, is there any character like her?)
