It depends on where you are. I took my 9th grade as the “senior year” of junior high because junior high and high both had three grades in them. Then I moved to an area where junior high has only two grades and high has four and missed the “freshman year” because I had already taken it.
 
I assumed that the 3/3 split was more common than the 2/4 split.
 
However, since I wrote that, someone off the booru pointed out to me that Sunset had won the vote as queen three times before the first movie (proven by three victory photos of her with the crown). That does prove this school district uses the 2/4 split, and so the first grade of high school would be the 9th.
 
My bad. I really thought I had spotted something relevant.

It’s those kinds of tricks Disney use that make the park much more fun and magical than it should be.

I like that her colors look like Disney’s “Go Away Green”. A color that Disney has made/found just to use in their parks to make ugly things more invisible. Mostly Wallflower’s sweater but also her skintone look like the “Go Away Green” (her skin is a bit lighter and her sweater a bit darker than the real color).  
I would love to see her in some different clothes with different colors, maybe orange or red.

Actually, this scene renewed an old question.
 
Wallflower states she’s known Sunset since 9th grade.
 
Sunset attended Canterlot High, but there hasn’t been any mention of her being in any earlier schools in the EQG universe.
 
What happened to the human Sunset? We’re still waiting to find out, and now we have confirmation that there was one.
