““This world proved tonight that love and compassion for others no longer exists. Hope is a Lie.”
I don’t usually look at comments. I don’t have the time. I don’t see how so many people do, really. Yesterday though, this came across my world…
…and it stuck in my mind. It stuck in my heart.
This election has been something new. Many people don’t seem to understand that. Maybe they’re too young to care. More likely, they’re just that apathetic, it doesn’t involve them immediately so it doesn’t matter. Maybe they’re lucky enough to be that entitled and dismissive of other’s concerns but whatever the reasons, many people are disillusioned, angry, hurting and scared, for good reason. Two major choices were given to them, the people all around them, their co-workers, family, government officials, acceptance and love or bigotry and oppression. Our country could continue to step forward in growth or it could step back into ugliness. The bad guys won. The evil men who believe in fear, bigotry and hate now hold the highest political office in this country by will of the electoral college, the house, the senate and soon possibly, the supreme court as well. This is pretty terrifying, not just in what it means for our freedoms as American citizens but also what it says about the people around us. So much hate. So much dismissive, uncaring elitism. “Just deal with it.” “Don’t be such babies” “Hah Hah, look at the SJW’s crying that they lost”…. “In these dark times we must never give up hope. Hold onto hope, my friend. Hope for a better world, hope for a new beginning, hope for a good breakfast. Start small and see where you can go from there.”
It is horrifying to see. It’s horrifying, disgusting and sad. We were supposed to be better than this.
I saw this comment and it stuck with me. So, to you, person whose name I don’t know, a gift. Whatever you are, wherever you are, you are NOT alone. You still live and with that spark of life comes hope. Times are about to get darker and harder than they’ve been in a long time, I know, but the sun will rise on tomorrow.
To paraphrase the words of Covetous Shen
I mock many things in my comics, as I’m sure I’ll continue to do so, but those are THINGS. Things are not people, they don’t matter like people do and there are bigger concerns right now to me than any things.
Hold onto hope, all of you. Remember that you are loved.”
Seems that way to me too. I wouldn’t mind seeing other art like the Chrysalis/Fluffpuff one from this artist.
Or any other MLP art the artist made after this one and before the pride drawing?
It seems to me the artists stance towards MLP slowly but surely changed into a more positive one.
