How can we be sure she doesn’t erase her own memories sometimes as well? We only have her word on that…but if she’d ever messed with her memories, then obviously she wouldn’t remember (messing with her memories).
 
Circular logic, maybe. A possible theory? Sure. :)

No, but being ignored long enough can also distort how you remember your own history. She herself admits to having erased awkward meetings, and being awkward and shy in the first place would have made her hesitate to stand out.

How can anyone be certain of that when she was making everyone forget she was there? Messing with memories can make things seriously unclear.
 
She may have been noticed before. But her awkwardness made her cripplingly shy. Memories erased, nobody remembers the awkward girl.

Yea, she isn’t ugly or anything just kinda average. A plain Jane if you will. If she wore her hair in a style or wore some clothes that would “pop” she’d get noticed more. Hell look at Fluttershy, she was wayyyy more shy than Wallflower but her hair and clothes make her pop out more. So the other humane 6 took notice of her and became her friends.

The implication is that Wallflower is plain, not ugly. She doesn’t have any dazzling colors or styles. Her hair is unstyled, she wears plain jeans and a dull sweater. No accessories. Nothing special enough to really stand out in a crowd full of loud, vibrant colors.
