then whats the point of doing a reboot if the same cast is coming back? isn’t the point of a reboot to try something new with a new cast and setting? might as well make Shrek 5
Apparently it was universe’s idea with Chris Meledandri in charge and also apparently he wants to bring back the original cast
Probably can’t afford Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz anymore, reboot = cheaper voice actors.

I guess they could try and make it like the original concept where Shrek leaves the family business of scaring people behind in order to become a heroic knight. Atleast, I think that would be a good idea.
