I think another thing /mlp/ dislikes about it is that they think documentaries are supposed to provide “unbiased viewpoints.”
Yeah, because editing 200+ hours of footage into a 100 minute documentary can be done without bias.

Even though I can see people getting upset that this is just for more publicity or something
“Hiding your power level” while acting the same as other fans is a top priority for /mlp/.
I’m sure there’s a Cupcakes reference in there somewhere. It’s just too engrained in the fandom’s history.

I understand where you come from, but the shock value of a large group of men watching a show for little girls sells a documentary.
but white on rainbow that seems so…stripperish for some reason I can’t even explain why :T
They dislike any public display of being a fan. Singing is one of the things they go crazy over. They also think it won’t mention the origins of the popularity,which I doubt, because Lauren talked to people on /co/.
They also don’t like the whole “ponies made me a better person” belief.
And then there’s always their love/hate relationship with Fremdschamen, which they think this documentary will provide a lot of.
