It’s from Rainbow Dash and Little Strongheart’s Friends Forever issue, number 31. The Rainbow Crow is a legendary figure that brought the buffalo fire during a cold winter very long ago, flying up to the sun to get it – but at the cost of its colorful feathers being scorched black, and its lovely voice hoarsened into a harsh caw. The buffalo have since been ritually burning one of her feathers whenever they need to make a harsh winter end, but they’ve run out now, and Rainbow and Strongheart need to go to the Crow’s nest to get more.
 
It’s a lovely issue. The story is well-written, and the crow’s story is gorgeously illustrated. It’s the kind of story I really would have loved to see in the show itself.
