I commissioned Riverfox to draw a gift to my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary, which is coming up in a few days. According to Anniversarygift.org and another similar site, the traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is pearls, and the modern gift is diamond jewelry. The traditional flower is the lily. And of course the gemstone is the pearl.
 
I asked Riverfox to draw Lily holding lilies wearing a pearl necklace mostly because of the correlation that her name is Lily. I’m sure Lily is a bit miffed that I only hired her to deliver this message because of her name, but she’s putting on a good face and smile for the event. The version I showed to my parents was more extensively personalized with their names and a “from your son” type message, and it also had a nice colorful background I took from elsewhere. I removed that background here and edited the image to be more generic so other people could see Riverfox’s artwork. Perhaps you know someone who will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in the future.
