“It’s still so odd, Darling…I thought only those connected to the Elements of Harmony could be called by the map, but it called Spike many years ago and now you!” Rarity scratched her chin as her daughter Radiant Jewel bounced around the train compartment happily. “Do I get to help you with your fashion stuff Mommy?!”
 
“Yes, darling, I suppose so.” Rarity mulled over the events of earlier that day. She had been summoned by the map as per usual; to Manehattan once again. But the unusual thing was that her daughter, who had no cutie mark herself, was summoned as well. Neither had any idea what business a young filly had on a friendship mission, but they figured the map knew what it was doing. Rarity was snapped out of her thoughts as Jewel continued to bounce around.
 
Jewel let out a loud squeal as they reached their stop. She had demanded that Rarity give her a makeover before the train ride so she could look nice for her Manehattan friends. As she walked out by her mother’s side, she calmed down a bit so as to not embarass her mother in public. “Maybe one of your friends is supposed to teach me how to sew so I won’t set the boutique on fire and break your sewing machine again!”
 
Rarity shuddered as she thought of her favorite sewing machine going up in flames. “Perhaps, darling. We’ll see.” She looked around, wondering where the problem even was before hearing a shriek from a nearby jewelry store. Inside was a good friend of Rarity’s, Touring Winds. Recently she had decided to create her own jewelery and fashion line but clealry it wasn’t going very well.  
“Touring Winds! Whatever is the matter?” Rarity trotted in to find her friend in an absolute wreck. Her daughter walked in behind her, looking around at all the sparkly jewels.
 
“Oh Rarity!” Touring sobbed dramatically. “I am having a crisis!”
 
Jewel sprinted around and grabbed a hooffull of gemstones, looking at each one and reading up on them in Touring’s book.
 
“Radiant Jewel! You be careful with those, they are very expensive!” Rarity warned.
 
“Let her have them. It’s no use anyway,” Touring wiped away the mascara running down her face. “My jewelry line is failing miserably! All the business is going to Suri’s line! And when I read the reviews, customers say that my products are meaningless and uninspiring! I’m an utter failure!” She leaned on a jewelry case, using it as a makeshift fainting couch.
 
Jewel sat with the cluster of gems in her hooves and raised her eyebrows curiously. “Pearls promote faith, truth, and purity. Angel wing necklace?”
 
Rarity gently silenced Touring, who was still carrying on. “You have an idea? Oh, do go on!”
 
“Amethysts are supposed to help with nightmares, so maybe do a set dedicated to Princess Luna? Rose Quartz are symbols of universal love, like Princess Cadence! Rubies can be used to decorate armor aince they’re stones of energy and leadership!”
 
Touring perked up. “Why, you have a point, young filly. I have never even considered gemstones in such a light as you. Your help and knowledge could be a valuable asset to my business. Tell me, how would you like to become my assistant?” She and Rarity looked to Jewel, awaiting an answer.
 
Jewel squealed loudly in excitement as her flank began to glow. she held the stones close to her and said eagerly, “Sapphires are stones of mental clarity and spiritual power…you could dedicate that one to Princess Twilight!”
 
Rarity and Touring’s eyes widened in awe as Jewel’s flank glowed even more brightly. “Jewel, your cutie mark!”
 
“Woah!” Jewel turned and looked at her flank, now adorned with three blue sapphires. “See Mommy? I told you I was supposed to get help from your friends!”
 
Rarity chuckled. “Yes, you did. But more importantly I think you helped her.”
 
“Indeed you did,” Touring knelt down to Jewel’s eye level. “I could never have solved this problem without you. You are truly gifted, it is clear to see. You can use that gift to spread beauty across Equestria!”
 
Jewel beamed in pride and excitement. “I will!”
