Also, the shooting stars. Yeah, while I believe it to symbolize their parents we never really saw them, so no.

Tick off the “Visit to a new city” as they went to the Crystal Kingdom, which was just a city, and the “More pony parents”, as we saw AJ’s parents in the form of shooting stars.

I view villains in this series as being those like Discord and the Queen of the Changelings. They were threats to Equestria as a whole.
 
Antagonists I thought, were just foils to the characters and weren’t that large of threats to Equestria.

Do you REALLY think they were well used product placement? Tank was well used product placement, even the Wedding was alright product placement.
 
The Crystal Empire? Not so much in my opinion, since it was pretty blatant with the purpose of the Crystal Ponies was to sell toys, along with Crystal version of the mane six.
 
Also, we only learned that there’s another Empire outside Equestria. What I was aiming for was something like learning the origins of Ponyville i some detail, instead of just exposition.
 
However, I might rethink it in the future.

OF COURSE more royalty is going to be shown throughout the show, that’s a given, but with Cadence showing up, who knows, there might be more royalty in Equestria.
