Description

Oh yeah, @jargwellprescott? Well, here we sit about four months later, and here she is: lego Eris (Rule 63 Discord for you plebeians unaware) in all her sort of glory but there’s definitely flaws. I know for several of the past builds I’ve tried taking a streamlined, shorter approach to these descriptions, but I’ll go back to the more detailed writing for this one, because she big (1,290 bricks big, FYI).

And yes, this was the surprise I was supposed to come back with for JargChat, for any who remember that passing mention in my isolation post.

So where do I even begin on this beast? Well, I should probably start off by saying that she was not meant to be this big, and I’d in fact reduced her size from a base I’d already started, but I just rolled with it as I continued because I was making decent progress. The legs, personally, I think came out really well. For oversized appendages, I really nailed them, I’d say.

The shape of the body was actually not that hard, if merely repetitive. I just had to keep increasing the size to eventually get it right, and by the eventual suggestion of @onelumenpersquaremetre (who really helped me out a lot again. Thankies), widened it as well. The tail isn’t nearly as detailed as it could be (it’s missing a lot of those little spines), but, y’know, legos limits and all that. The tail tuft looks nice, though.

The wings are fuckin’ [okay hand emoji]. The bat wing was a bitch to make, but that effort was not wasted. The bird wing was pretty easy, though. The arms are probably about as good as they can get, which isn’t to say they’re bad, but I’d like for them to look a bit better. And as you can see, I decided to make the arms posable. Not that it’d make a difference since it’s virtual.

The head is where things get a little messy. Firstly, her hair looks a little too poofy for my liking, but Hell if I’m gonna find out how to make it thinner and wavy (the effect I was actually going for). The snout looks better than it did previously (as it was a mix of different sloped pieces), and I like the snaggletooth, too. The nose and nostrils are “eh”. They’re passable, but could be better. The blue antler atop her head is just not that good. I tried to get it at an angle while keeping its accuracy, but geez, that just didn’t end up all that good. The little yellow one, on the other hand, is just fine.

In any case, you’re welcome, JargChat. Feel free to bow at my feet and kiss my toes for creating the closest physical manifestation you’ll be getting to your goddess Eris.
