Could an individual have dormant blockers besides their main two. If so then what Mrs cake said about having a Pegasus and/or unicorn ancestor(I forget exactly what) would make sense. The dormant E gene would give her the potiential to have all three

Sorry it took me so long to reply. She has Pegasus and Earth Pony magic. From a theoretical standpoint, ponies are capable of harnessing all types of magic. Practically, no pony could actually harness this except for Alicorns. In extremely rare cases, ponies born with the right gene set (including the genes mentioned here) can, in fact, harness Earth Pony magic and either Unicorn or Pegasus magic.

This fandom needs to learn that, just because someone said something in the show once, that doesn’t make it fact. Somehow, I doubt a society that seems to be rather pre-industrial most of the time (though the show is a bit schizophrenic in that regard) would have a good grasp of how genetics works, especially since genes that block trait development are a relatively recent discovery in our world. An explanation like the one Mr. Cake gave is just the kind of explanation that a pre-industrial baker might decide works, assuming that he trusts his wife enough to say that she didn’t cheat on him.
 
Which is, of course, another option if you want to be cynical about it. He didn’t offer that possibility, now did he?
