Gotta agree with the others here. There’s a VERY fine line between “Very detailed” and “overly busy” when it comes to OC and cutie mark design. You have every right to design your OC’s features as you wish, but it also means that if you wanted someone else to do a piece of work for you of said OC, you’re HEAVILY taxing them with how busy it is.
Not only am I biased against Cutie Marks such as this, from a base ABDL level up, but it’s way too busy for an MLP OC as a whole. There is so much going on that it’s almost overwhelming.

Unique can be very nice, but I’d question it when it might disturb some images given how busy it is.
It does look okay in the linked image at full res, given the overall color spectrum of the image. But when just viewing it to fit on my phone’s screen it does become a guessing game. Also, on a side note, unless known it might be hard to tell if these white splashes are cutie mark or not. But that’s going into a lot of detail.
I for one am very open about designs, but this does feel over the top for me. Definitely not fitting the show style in any way. But that’s just my two cents on this, nothing more to say.
@Background Pony #C0A6
I gotta agree there. When seeing the thumbnail I did not expect this to be a cutie mark at all. It really looks like a full image.
@wumbl3
Have you used it in artwork before ? I feel like the level of detail might get lost when scaling it to fit on a pony’s flank. It’s a cute idea and a good image, but I would recommend to simplify it a lot for use as a cutie mark.
This is way too complicated for a cutie mark. A cutie mark is supposed to be a simple representation of a pony’s talent, not their entire personality and life story shoved onto their flank
@Keira Alcove
Holy crap, pump the hate breaks, Victoria Woodhull. Anyone in their right mind would recognize that, for a cutie mark, this picture is incredibly busy. It looks more like t-shirt art rather than a butt tattoo.
Gonna make a more minimalist version soon :O

I just don’t find what your saying to be anything personally valuable as criticism… It’s so obvious.
I made this mark and slapped it on his butt. Don’t you think it came across my mind at least once that it was rather busy for a cutie mark?
I like making my OC unique in as many ways as I can and I figured a busy cutie mark would suit him as he’s quite a hyper and excited bat pony!
Passive aggressive much? If you don’t want criticism and feedback I wouldn’t suggest posting your stuff in a public place.

Too bad. These marks have as much right to exist as any other.
