Never said there was any harm in them having that headcanon. Also never said that their headcanon was wrong for one reason or another.

your current filter.I don’t see the problem with this. Yes, while the show didn’t confirm Rainbow Blaze being Rainbow Dash’s relative, I see no harm in having that headcanon. (Also, I don’t recall them mentioning him being her teacher like you said either.) They were very vague with the whole thing and that leaves a lot of wiggle room for people to interpret him as whatever they want him to be.
Talk to people with a wider array of Christmas traditions.

They probably are blood related though since a childhood teacher doesn’t usually show up for the holidays (A Hearth’s Warming Tail).
