The Santa Claus we know today originally came from Dutch marketers who called him “Sinterklaas” around the 1800s I think.

Basically Saint Nicholas (the original Santa Claus) is known for two miracles: One he saved 3 girls from prostitution by dropping gold coins (or apples) through their chimney and two he saved 3 kids that were mutilated and pickled by a madman.
