Why are the Storm Creatures even more vulnerable to more conventional attacks? Since we so some being burned by Spike, I believed that some were blasted by Rarity’s magic before the Storm Creatures could shield it.

They didn’t confirm what the Storm Guard did after Spike lit him on fire. It was used as a showcase that the guards were prepared for any and all magical assaults, but were completely vulnerable to more conventional attacks, such as fire.

Does the the Storm creature that seize Spike and get his armed burnt by Spike climbed back do the airship or he didn’t because he splashed into the water to extinguished it and then get back to dry land and catch up to the ship? And besides, in the junior novel, after Spike screaming Twilight’s name so painful when she was captured by Tempest, Spike show a less sad blast of fire at the ship to burn it down in a feeble attempt to do something to help and the skiff’s hold door slams shut. This happened offscreen. But I also agreed that offscreen, the Storm Creature unburnt his arm and get back to the airship climbing up the hook while Spike was trying to breathe fire and the bottom of the ship several times until the Storm Creature’s shield blocks the fire and nothing works the Storm ship flew away and Spike gives up before he alert the Mane 5 that Twilight’s been taken.

Spike was being his usual nice self and not resorting to violence until Twilight was captured, at which point he lit the guard on fire. It also showcased that his fire was non magical when he eliminated the guards in the plaza during the main assault as magic was a no go for the most part due to the armor and shields.

I really believe that some writers in the group WANT to make Spike the one who’d do the “dirty jobs” that the others can’t/won’t.

They really didn’t pull any punches with his fire in the movie. Spike lit a bunch of guards on fire, letting them run around before dropping dead when the gang went to take back Canterlot. Sure, they didn’t make it the camera focus during those scenes but the audience could clearly see it happening.

Yep. He’s little and treated like a comic relief, but he’s still a dragon and had no long lasting injuries of any sort despite all of his abuse. His flames and jaw pressure alone are enough to make any mortal fear him.

Some info I dug up that makes him a lot more terrifying:

Spike’s jaw pressure can casually shatter items rating 9 on the Moh’s scale. For reference, that is the rating of Ruby and Sapphire. Diamond is 10.

The pressure needed to crack either ruby or sapphire is roughly around 4,351 PSI. That’s just to CRACK the gemstone, that’s not what is required to break it, much less grind it into a fine powder.

For comparison, a 12 foot long Nile Crocodile’s max bite force is clocked in at 5,000 PSI At this pressure, broken teeth and jaw damage is highly likely. Spike is less than two feet tall and exhibits close to that bite force CASUALLY with no damage to his teeth or jaws.

Spike’s fire also is in excess of temperatures of 2,800 degrees F/1,538 degrees C, strong enough to melt iron in less than a second.

I read a great fan fiction once where a very young Twilight was taking Spike for a walk. She very nearly get assaulted by some lowlives. Spike reacts by burning them alive. She had kept the secret for a decade or more. She uses it as a warning—Spike may be cute, but he’s still a dragon.
