It’s pretty rad. The player tokens are things like Samus’ visor and a starman, the chance and community chest cards include things like “You were voted ‘most popular plumber’ collect $10”. It’s all very nice.
What is disappointing however is rather than building houses and hotels, you “Power Up” the character. But you still use and get plastic houses and hotels to put on top of the space, rather than something like fire flowers or heart container.
You don’t buy properties, you buy Nintendo characters, E.G. the greens are Link, Zelda and Minda. The oranges are Samus, Ridley and a Morphball.
And you rent them…. So it’s Nintendo prostitution, the board game…
