As fun as this card is for flavor _(rimshot) and as much as I love white life-gain cards about food from you, FOME, this one isn’t jiving with me. There are two cards with the double-your-life-total ability, and both cost 6 and are repeatable without direct intervention, the Mantle being an aura triggering and the Beacon being a Beacon. This has a practical equivalence of paying 8 for one go without the support of a Reset- or Awakening- like effect and a retrieval effect. It would be fun to build a deck around, might be nice in Commander or Singleton, but otherwise not worthwhile.
