… Huh? Like I get Sonata, I know she hates Dolly, but I’m pretty sure her aunts and her Dad very much do love her.

He didn’t need a reason, really. He loves Cinch as much as he can they just don’t have a particularly sexual relationship and even an overtly romantic one any more. He believes he has the right to fulfill those needs elsewhere. And she doesn’t care as long as he doesn’t ruin their reputation. Which is hard considering the Dolly of it all. Whom she’s willingly caring for and passing off as her daughter and she believes herself a saint for doing so - despite not being a particularly warm parent to the young girl. There’s limits to how much she can truly love and understand Dolly though she cares for her as she did her own daughters and her granddaughter Primrose.

Aaaaah okay now this is starting to make a lot of sense. So is like Cinch infertile or something? Cause i still wanna know why hes cheating on his wife

Oh, kiddo… That’s just because you’re not a sociopath and your mom is. She can’t love you, you’re competition. Get to know your aunts, they’d shower you with all the love you can stand and a little more besides.

How’s Dolly in personality?
 
She’s a happy and chipper young thing, with a bunch of quirks that make other people think she’s ‘weird’ or ‘off-putting’. She has an obsession with sharks and other weird things, doesn’t fully understand personal boundaries just yet but she’s still a kid so she’ll figure those out soon enough.  
When school is over and she has to wait to be picked up she likes to travel to the local aquarium and watch the sharkies swim. She isn’t always the most talkative, but if you talk with her about something she’s passionate about you’ll have a hard time keeping her quiet.
 
At school she likes to keep her pens and pencils inside of a doll, in which she has to rip the head off to access them. She likes to make shark noises as she does this too. It weirds the other kids out but she’s happy enough about it. You’ll almost always see her smiling and is more comfortable around other kids than she is adults she doesn’t know.
 
She has to get to know you first before she’s comfortable around you, and that usually involves indulging in her shark fascination first. If you don’t earn her trust then it’s easy for her to consider you an enemy and want nothing to do with you.
 
She’ll sing to herself as she walks, play games by herself, and generally will be a happy little girl, even if she appears lonely. Many people like to claim she has no one but herself to blame for being lonely, but the only things she’s done wrong is have fun with the things she likes. She doesn’t even really register that she’s alone at least, because she’s happy playing with her sharkies.
 
What does teen Dolly think about her mother?
 
She still loves her Mom and her family, but is old enough to realize that they don’t really feel the same way about her back. She knows Sonata hates her and it kind of digs at her emotions. She kind of goes through a goth stage, wearing her emotions on her sleeves, but everyone just kind of interprets it as her still being weird. Plus she still puts on a smile and laughs, and kind of plays up the Gotch schtick, but she’s mostly just hurt that her mom doesn’t love her.
