I’m going to have to side with Itsthinking and Bhazor (not to mention rmlohner from youtube) here guys: Season 3 has been on a role straight out of the gate, and I’m definitely interested in where they take it from here. Season 1 was the setup, 2 the experimentation and the development, and 3 (to me, at least) is where the show heads to where it wants to go.
 
As for what BP said regarding S3 being a dork age: What the fuck are you smoking?! A dork age is defined as (taken directly from tvtropes ): Failed attempts to keep the franchise fresh.
 
What they’re doing is keeping the series fresh, as the likes of S1 could not continue forever (even if Faust was still at the helm).

As far as I can say of S3, the highs aren’t as high but thankfully the lows aren’t as low.
 
But while minimized to be basically having the season be only “2 Part premier + Individual character episode for each of mane six + 1/2 part finale”, it’s done a good job.
 
And since S4 is believed to be 26 more, S3 will just be the Dork Age of the series that has come and gone.

But season 3 has been way better than season 2. Certainly more consistent in terms of quality. No clunkers like Mare Do Well or A Friend in Deed.
 
I’d put Magic Duel, One Bad Apple and Wonderbolt Academy up against anything from season 1.
 
But of course it’s not a fandom with out the fans who hate anything new.

Anyway, they’ve been hits yeah, but not as cool as they could have been with proper care and attention. I think the episode cut announcement caught them by surprise and jostled their jimmies a bit. That’s the only way I can explain the admittedly MINOR dip in quality since S2.  
Seems like they come close to making amazing episodes, and back off at the last second. It’s kind of an unexpected jolt.

I didn’t scream that when Derpy spoke, so I definitely wouldn’t if Braeburn did.

the season has been pretty bland and even cringe worthy so far. hopefully they can redeem themselves with the next couple episodes. really sucks nothing will be as good as season 1 or even half of season 2 for that matter.

oh no…there comes the complains! (why the ones with complais are the most vocal while the without any are always silent?) must ignore…must ignore…focus on your own opinion…don’t let someone else opinion ruin your fun…

Are you actually judging them based on their own, or are you just sad that it isn’t season 1 anymore?

i gave up with the concept of “pandering”, people always scream that is something negative.

The only actually decent episode we’ve had this season was Sleepless. Academy and Pinkie Pies were okayish, but beyond that it was a loada crap.

Most of it’s been pretty flat to me. Magic Duel felt rushed…

This season hasn’t had a single episode like Owl’s Well that Ends Well, May The Best Pet Win, Mysterious Mare Do Well, or Dragon Quest. I think it’s been one hit after another.

They haven’t done it…I’m not blown away this season.

And yet they didn’t even hire a VA for Braeburn to say a few lines in the Apple Family Reunion. So much for that…  
You’d think they’d throw in extra budget this time since there’s only 13 episodes to work with, but no.
